Overview

A short, immersive escape into Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest national park. Explore the savannah on game drives – watching for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and predators – then experience the Nile from the water on a boat safari towards the base of the falls, where the river forces its way through a narrow gorge before plunging downstream.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe / Kampala to Murchison Falls

Depart Entebbe or Kampala and travel north towards Murchison Falls National Park, passing through Uganda’s countryside before entering the park. After lunch, cross the Nile by ferry and head out on an afternoon game drive across the northern sector, watching for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and a variety of birdlife.

Stay: Pakuba Safari Lodge · Drive: ~6–7 hrs · Game drive: ~2–3 hrs · Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Game Drive & Murchison Falls by Boat

Rise early for a morning game drive when the savannah is at its most active, exploring the northern bank of the Nile in search of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelope and, with luck, lions. After lunch, take a boat safari along the Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls, watching hippos and crocodiles in the water while elephants and buffalo gather along the banks.

Stay: Pakuba Safari Lodge · Boat: ~3 hrs · Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3: Murchison Falls to Entebbe / Kampala

After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Entebbe or Kampala. With more time, a Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary experience can be added as an optional stop, subject to timing and availability.

Drive: ~6–7 hrs · Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
