Overview

A short but rewarding introduction to Uganda’s wildlife. Begin at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can track rhinos on foot with an experienced guide, then continue to Murchison Falls for game drives across the savannah and a boat safari along the Nile to the base of the falls – a journey that combines conservation, wildlife and one of Uganda’s most spectacular natural landmarks.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda

Welcome to Uganda. Meet your representative at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, relax at the lodge or enjoy a short introduction to Entebbe.

Stay: Airport Guest House · Transfer: ~15 min · Meals: Dinner

Day 2: Entebbe to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, journey north towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. The highlight is a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, giving you the chance to observe rhinos at close range in their natural environment. After lunch, enjoy a guided nature walk through the sanctuary, home to a variety of wildlife and birdlife.

Stay: Amuka Lodge · Drive: ~4 hrs · Rhino tracking: ~1–2 hrs · Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3: Ziwa to Murchison Falls

After breakfast, continue to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in time for lunch before an afternoon game drive. Keep watch for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelope and, with luck, lions and other wildlife.

Stay: Pakuba Safari Lodge · Drive: ~3 hrs · Game drive: ~3–4 hrs · Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4: Murchison Wildlife & the Nile

Rise early for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, the best time to explore as wildlife becomes active in the cooler hours. After lunch, take a boat safari along the Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls, watching for hippos and crocodiles while elephants and buffalo gather along the riverbanks.

Stay: Pakuba Safari Lodge · Boat: ~3 hrs · Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5: Murchison Falls to Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your journey back towards Entebbe. Depending on your flight schedule, you can be transferred directly to the airport or to a hotel for a day-use room for a later departure.
